When writing a short story, you want to make sure the grammar, syntax, logic and overall construction of the sentences are proper and accurate. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then in photographic terms, the elements of that short story translates into lighting, exposure, composition and the fine tuning which occurs in editing and post processing. Digital photography affords a great deal of creative control allowing for many subtle effects which can add impact to the image. Good, professional estate and property photography is like a doctoral dissertation compared to the snapshot of a freshman's term paper. One photographic approach for use with estate, property and architectural photography is called High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography. HDR photography brings out highlights in shadow areas which would otherwise remain muttled. It also brightens and emboldens colors in the highlights. It can create a painting-like or illustrative effect. Although not suitable for all situations, HDR photography is particularly applicable to creating standout estate and property images. Some of the sample images on this page are HDR. One of the more critical elements in obtaining a quality image is time of day. Lighting is the photographer's pen and although artificial lights can, and often are, used, natural lighting can present the most realistic results. Generally, the best lighting is morning and late afternoon and it's not unreasonable to schedule one location at both times. If you have need for estate or property photography, I am available. Travel time and post processing of images, as well as the actual shoot time, are considered billable I offer a free initial consultation to discuss the project and ascertain exactly what product you are seeking. Completed, high resolution images for print and low resolution images for websites are delivered on CD with copyright release. To contract for services, an initial payment of $100 is required and will be applied towards the total cost of the project. The initial payment can be made via the PayPal link below.
